Hi all! I’m excited to be back, it’s been a busy few months (more about this later). However, I’m even more excited that we’ve booked our annual spring vacation. For the past couple years, we take a relaxing spring vacation with one of our favorite couple friends. This particular vacation is my favorite because the agenda consists of pool, beach, eat, repeat. How perfect is that? We try our best to disconnect and the only time you’ll find us staring at a screen is on the beach while we pass around an iPad for an intense game of Words with Friends. We’ll only leave the resort once or twice depending on the location but other than that, you’ll find us hanging out around the resort.
Needless to say, I have prohibited myself to shop any winter clothes that may be on sale and keeping an eye out for vacation goodies! Finding the right resort wear always makes it easy to pack exactly what you know you’ll use. I either overpack or fail to pack a few items – go figure! With spring in full bloom, there’s so much to choose from so I decided to share what’s been on my radar.
I love that one pieces are trending! This year I am determined to find the right one piece (or pieces) for my body. They’ll be easy to wear with shorts or flowy maxi skirt while walking around the resort.
It’s not a beach vacation without a straw bag to carry your sunnies, sunscreen, and despite disconnecting on this trip, I need my phone for photos! I usually use a beach bag like this one, but this year I’m thinking a smaller one will suffice. I’m loving this Cult Gaia bag that’s been everywhere but I also found other great ones.
If you should know anything about me, it’s that I LOVE sunglasses! I have dedicated a shelf for sunnies in my closet and space in my entry way for my go-to sunnies. These are my current go-to sunnies. Needless to say a beach vacation is when they all come out to play! Some of these I already own, others are on my radar 😉
I don’t know about you but I personally think shoes make or break an outfit! For walking around the resort, studded flip flops and slides are perfect but still make me feel put together! I always love me a good wedge or block heel for dressed up dinners and evening activities.
Last year when we went to Costa Rica I completely forgot a few of my favorite cover-ups, like this palm print sarong. Luckily I had packed a few swing dresses that worked just fine. This year cover-ups will be the first thing I pack!
Lastly, this month I turn 30 so I don’t mess around with my skin anymore. Sunscreen (among other creams) is my best friend. I’m counting on fab hats that I have my eye on to protect my face from the rays. Packing tip: for a big floppy hat (or any hat) make some room in the middle of your suitcase and lay the hat top-side down, then you can use the inside to fill it with small tanks, swimsuits or sarongs.
